Some Of Blumhouse's Best Horror Movies Are Returning To Theaters, And The Tickets Are Cheap

The WGA Strike of 2023 had an unexpected but positive ramification. While writers demanded better pay and guarantees from studios against being replaced by automated writing machines, many films and TV shows stopped production for lack of writers - as Hollywood began grinding to a halt without writers to fill scripted roles. When production resumed after resolution of the strike was reached, however there remained an approximately 1480 day gap on most studios' production schedules; to fill these 148 day gaps some studios came up with an innovative plan: simply re-releasing their top hits from previous years allowing audiences to watch some great flicks again on big screens across America!

Pixar films such as "Soul," "Luca," and "Turning Red" will be re-released to make up for losses suffered during the pandemic, after being exclusively distributed through Disney+ in America and only playing select theaters internationally; their box office receipts and losses were disappointing: one such title earned less than $20 million at box office while costing nearly $200 million, creating huge financial losses; this "make good" strategy allows Pixar to balance out an otherwise barren schedule due to their strike-induced financial losses.

Halfway to Halloween

The Halfway to Halloween festival spans five nights from Friday, March 29 to Tuesday, April 2. Each night from 7 pm onward, one Blumhouse film will be showcased - here is its lineup:

  • March 29: "Split"
  • March 30: "The Purge"
  • March 31: "Ouija: Origin of Evil"
  • April 1: "Insidious"
  • April 2: "The Invisible Man" (2020)

Blumhouse Film Festival will take place across 40 AMC theaters nationwide in February 2017. According to Blumhouse press releases, screenings will feature full-scale events with extra material and sweepstakes; audiences have an opportunity to win giveaways, get sneak previews of films they may love as well as see recorded messages from directors/talent in each screening; all for just $8 ticket price!

"Split," by M. Night Shyamalan, depicts an intense thriller wherein an individual with dissociative identity disorder (James McAvoy) abducts three teenage girls heaving them against their will into captivity. McAvoy delivers one of his finest performances here. James DeMonaco's "The Purge" is a sci-fi flick starring Ethan Hawke that imagines an alternate future where all crimes, from murder and home invasion, become legal for one night each year. Mike Flanagan's "Oujia: Origin of Evil" expands upon the original Oujia film to make for something genuinely chilling, while James Wan's "Insidious" follows an unwitting boy as they unintentionally summon ghostbusters (including Lin Shaye ) into his home to stop them. Leigh Whannell's "The Invisible Man", featuring Elizabeth Moss as she becomes stalked by an unseen ex-partner is one of Leigh Whannell's finest works ever.

Blum noted, "Our goal was to celebrate local communities of horror fans across the United States by hosting an affordable yet wicked night of cinema. AMC helped make this idea come to fruition."

Blumhouse stands to make cinema-going more entertaining in an age when many shrug off theater-going experience, by keeping horror movie goers thoroughly engaged during theater screenings of scary flicks. Few studios have done more to enhance this in-person horror experience than Blumhouse; their movies guaranteeing jump scares for new generations while we await for superherodom's decline to provide new cinematic trends; monster/ghost flicks provided years of good entertainment during that decade!

Elizabeth Frank, AMC's Chief Content Officer, released this statement: "Blumhouse films excite and thrill horror fans alike; therefore we are thrilled to bring these movies back onto big screen!"
