The Bikeriders Trailer Gives Us Yet Another Weirdo Voice From Tom Hardy

01-03-2024

Today is a holiday that should be observed by the nation. It's not Leap Day, or any other arbitrary construction that we use to label the chaotic nature of space and time. I swear that in my mind, it sounded more like Matthew McConaughey's voice from "True Detective", the first season. We should take the day off instead because Focus Features has decided to give us another trailer for "The Bikeriders", which puts another strange performance by Tom Hardy in the forefront of the action. When you start with an offscreen Hardy, in an absurdly Chicagoan dialect, talking about his desire to create a riding group instead of Austin Butler, it says it all.

The movie's story is more complex than Hardy and his buddies starting a new fun hobby. Mike Shutt, who reviewed "The Bikeriders", for /Film at the Austin Film Festival last November, praised that there was "so much pathos and power to be found" in the film. The trio [Jodie] Comer Butler and Hardy are bolstered by an array of character actors. They make for a captivating triangle." If the positive reviews or the impressive cast weren't enough to convince you, what could be better than to use the most powerful weapon available? Visit the above link to see the latest footage!

A new release of The Bikeriders has been scheduled for 2024

Putting aside the jokes, it's great to see another Jeff Nichols movie. The Bikeriders, originally scheduled to come out in 2023 but delayed indefinitely due to the actor's strike. The marketing campaign is now ramping back up in anticipation of a summer premiere. The film may not have the potential to be a big hit, especially from a director who has worked on intimate dramas such as "Shotgun Stories," Take Shelter," Mud," and Midnight Special. But it is comforting to hear that Focus Features feels confident about the production.

Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy star in the movie as three characters that are entangled with a motorcycle club. The story unfolds over several years and is essentially an anti-toxic masculinity warning against the social pressures which force people into particular careers. Nichols is the only one who could make such a familiar topic come alive in a fresh and new way. It's not a bad idea to highlight Hardy's voice, Butler's muscle (amazing that his usually headline-grabbing accent is now overshadowed?) and Comer's captivating screen presence. Comer has a captivating screen presence, and Hardy's accent is a great example.

The Bikeriders will be in theaters by June 21st, 2024.
The story of THE BIKERIDERS is about the growth of a motorcycle club in the midwest, called the Vandals. The club is seen through the eyes of the members as it evolves from an outsider gathering to a sinister gang that threatens the unique lifestyle of the original group.
